Ashland Man faces charges after crashing his car into Lake Superior.

ASHLAND – An Ashland man who crashed his SUV into Chequamegon Bay may be facing charges. Police tell the Daily Press that Russell Willoughby was on Sanborn Avenue Friday evening heading north when he sped through the intersection at Lake Shore Drive then went across the highway and hit a grassy berm. His SUV then went airborne and into the water. Investigators say the vehicle traveled at least 120 feet in the air before hitting the water. Willoughby was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries.
