EAGLE RIVER – Vilas County Moves Forward on How to Spend ARPA Funds. At their most recent meeting, the Vilas County finance and budget committee agreed to forward a resolution for funds provided by the American Rescue Plan Act to the county board for approval. The resolution recommends earmarking those funds towards revenue losses and to establish a process for the departments or external agencies to obtain that funding. While ARPA doesn’t require the use of funds for one time expenditures, county finance director Darcy Smith said she recommends that Vilas County does. The resolution also requires that a project price minimum be set at $100,000. Setting a minimum for projects will allow for more efficient management of those requests.
