One new COVID related death in both Gogebic and Ontonagon County

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health reporting 1962 COVID cases in Gogebic County an increase of 33 cases since yesterday.  1 new death being reported in Gogebic County yesterday bringing the death county to 34.  Ontonagon County with 685 an increase of 6 since yesterday.  1 new death being reported yesterday bringing the COVID death county to 27.  The Wisconsin Department of Health reports 854 cases in Iron County an increase of 14 cases since yesterday.  Health officials in Michigan report 27,563 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and Wednesday, reflecting an average daily case count of 13,673 new cases per day. There were 277 new reported deaths over the two-day period, including 165 deaths.  63.7% of all Michigan residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 4. Of residents 5 and older, 57.6% have completed their vaccination series.  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports 10,288 new cases of COVID-19 in Wednesday’s update, with 44 new deaths.  62.2% of the total population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of January 5. 58.3% of the total population has completed the vaccination series.
