Bessemer Water/Sewer project beginning soon.

BESSEMER – Bessemer Awards Water and Sewer Contracts to Local Businesses. Two local contractors have been hired to work on water and sewer projects by the Bessemer City Council. Both contracts were awarded in a 3-0 vote with two council members absent. The project calls for reconstruction of the city water and sewer system, some of which is 100 years old. According to project manager Darren Pionk, the work is running way ahead of schedule and ground may be broken earlier than expected. Along with awarding the two contracts the council approved various documents needed to proceed with the projects.
