Yoopers slow at responding to the census.

ONTONAGON – State census officials say the response rate in the upper peninsula is down from 2010. And officials say if that response rate doesn’t go up the UP could be undercounted which means less federal funding and possibly a change in representation. Ontonagon County is one location where the rate is much lower than 10 years ago. The most response in the UP is in Dickinson County with a little more than 56 percent. Statewide there’s been just over 60 percent response.
