Michigan Shutdown extended!

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has extended a partial shutdown of businesses and schools to Dec. 20, rejecting desperate appeals to lift a ban on indoor dining while the state tries to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Whitmer said Monday that the 12 extra days will enable the state health department to assess how Thanksgiving travel affected the spread of COVID-19. In-person instruction at high schools, dine-in eating at restaurants and organized sports continue to be prohibited. Entertainment venues such as movie theaters and bowling alleys remain closed. After Dec. 20, the administration’s priority will be trying to reopen high schools.
