IRONWOOD – We now know what caused yesterday morning’s power outage in Ironwood. According to Xcel Energy it was a substation power regulator failure that knocked out service to around 1,500 customers for the better part of an hour. It also affected traffic as signals were out of commission, so police put out four-way stop signs at those intersections. Some businesses had to shut down or limit offerings because there was no backup power source. Power was back on around 10:00 a.m.
