Local and Regional COVID cases.

GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 447 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County an increase of 20 since yesterday.  Ontonagon County with 203 cases and increase of 3 since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 282 cases in Iron County an increase of 1 since yesterday.  As of last night, there have been a total of 8,729 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 3,999 are considered recovered and 171 have resulted in death. The seven-day average for positive tests in the U.P. sits at 11.3%. Upper Michigan added 426 coronavirus cases and seven new deaths Thursday. Hospital leaders warn that more than 3,000 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus in Michigan, a rate that is doubling every two weeks and is expected to soon top the spring peak of about 4,000.  The cumulative rate of positive diagnostic tests for Upper Michigan is 4.62% as of Nov. 12.  COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 81 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Thursday, Nov. 12. Thirty-two patients are in the intensive care unit (ICU).  Aspirus hospitals have 12 coronavirus patients, with eight in the ICU.  Wisconsin is reporting another day of jaw-dropping COVID-19 infection numbers. The state Department of Health Services reported a record 7,497 new confirmed cases on Thursday, obliterating the old record of 7,065 set on Saturday.
