Iron Mountain man in jail on school threat and child porn charges

IRON MOUNTAIN – A 24-year-old Iron Mountain man in jail after causing multiple U.P. schools to go into a soft lockdown yesterday morning. Iron Mountain Police say Adam Murray was arrested yesterday morning after The Green Bay Police Department sent a report to the Iron Mountain Police about a man threatening schools in general without naming a particular school with the treats being traced back to Murray’s phone. As a result, both Dickinson and Iron counties Michigan schools went into a soft lockdown in an abundance of caution for a couple of hours. That lockdown was lifted after Murray was taken into custody. Murray is charged with four felonies relating to the online school threat and for distributing child sexually abusive material. Police saying Murray sent multiple Snapchats of child sexually abusive material through his cellular phone, and stated online that he was going to kill his mother and be a school shooter. Murray’s bond was set at $1 million cash or surety bond. He remains in the Dickinson County Jail and is due back in court for a probable cause conference April 25 and a preliminary examination May 2.
