Gogebic County moving forward on 911 upgrades

BESSEMER – The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners move forward with New, Technology to enhance 911 Services…The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners voted to approve a final 911 service plan. The plan chosen by the board will be provided by Next Generation 911 technology, which is a digital, internet-based system that will replace the analog 911 infrastructure that’s been in place for decades. The use of the new technology holds the possibility of dramatically increasing the amount of useful information that can be transmitted, which will make for a decidedly better 911 service, by enhancing efficiency and ability to help those using the service better.
