Rep. Greg Markkanen seeks to use a portion of the UP’s wolf population to re-establish populations in the Lower Peninsula.

LANSING – The House has advanced a resolution yesterday from state Republican Rep. Greg Markkanen of Hancock that seeks to use a portion of the Upper Peninsula’s abundant wolf population to re-establish a self-sustaining population in the Lower Peninsula. According to a press release from the state representative, the resolution is tie-barred to Markkanen’s House Bill 4102. The bill now advances to the House Committee on Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation for consideration.
