BESSEMER – Bessemer Blast is now in full swing. The Ups largest 4th of July celebration began yesterday and will continue through the 4th of July in Bessemer. Today will be the Tree of Honor Lighting Ceremony rescheduled to 7:00 tonight due to rain last night. The poker run, Selfie challenge and geocache dash all start today. Enjoy fish fry at Bessemer area restaurants and tomorrow a full list of activities including the Hometown run starting at 8:30, kids games and activities plus the craft and vendor fair both starting at 9:00. Lake State Mud Run is at 1:00 tomorrow, live music on Mary Street starts at 3 tomorrow, pig roast is at 4 and the bean bag tournament starts at 7.
