GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY –The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 499 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County an increase of 2 since yesterday. Ontonagon County with 225 cases no increase since yesterday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 314 cases in Iron County an increase of 4 since yesterday. As of last night, there have been a total of 10,299 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 4,602 are considered recovered and 199 have resulted in death. The seven-day average for positive tests in the U.P. sits at 12.3%. Upper Michigan added 279 coronavirus cases and six new deaths on Thursday. COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 89 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Thursday, Nov. 19. Of those, 21 are in the intensive care unit (ICU). Aspirus Ironwood has 3 patients with 3 in ICU, and 50% bed occupancy rate. Aspirus Ontonagon currently have no COVID patients, and a 20% bed occupancy rate.
