Ironwood School Board calls for a special election.

IRONWOOD – Ironwood Area Board of Ed Votes to Call Special Election. The Ironwood Area Board of Education trustees at their meeting on Monday night voted to call a special election on May 2nd in order to borrow more than $16 million to build an addition to the Luther L. Wright K-12 School and make other improvements to the school. The resulting mill levy would amount to $2.87 per $1,000 of taxable valuation which would be an increase of 1.45 mills over the last year’s levy. The resolution to call the election also notes that the proposed improvements would last for well over 2 decades.
