HURLEY – Iron County Residents Go to the Polls in Spring Election. Iron county residents go to the polls today to cast their votes in Wisconsin’s spring election. All voters have the chance to vote for State superintendent of public instruction as well as for a judge in the District 3 Court of Appeals race. Voters in the Hurley School District will decide who will fill the seat of Joe Simonich who earlier announced he wasn’t running for another term. In Mercer, there are two seats on the town board that need to be filled and residents there will also vote on a .5% Premier Resort Area Tax on certain purchases in order to generate revenue for road work.
