BESSEMER – Gogebic County Board of Commissioners Develop Recreation Plan for the Area, Complete with Room to Grow. At the most recent meeting of the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners, the board adopted a five-year recreation plan for this year through 2027. The board adopted the plan with full knowledge that there would probably be new ideas proposed by the public, like expanding equine opportunities in and near the fairgrounds, designating the McDonald Flowage County Park as a waterfowl sanctuary and establishing off road vehicle parks to accommodate riding in a controlled environment. Although amending the plan will be an involved process there is room to do so if the Board of Commissioners see the need.
