MARQUETTE – The Marquette man arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat to UPHS-Marquette was arraigned. Yesterday 70-year-old Patrick Bassett of Marquette was arraigned in Marquette County District Court. He is charged with making a false bomb threat, a felony, and malicious use of telecommunications services, a misdemeanor. Bassett was arrested Friday after allegedly calling the hospital and saying there were explosives in the facility. This led UPHS-Marquette staff and patients to enter a lockdown for almost three hours while law enforcement searched the property. The search determined there was no threat. Bassett is being held in Marquette County Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
