WATERSMEET – The Watersmeet School District received a $600,000 donation from the Lac Vieux Desert Tribe and the money has been put to good use to help educate students on campus and remotely. The money from the federal CARES Act will go toward obtaining new technology equipment for the district with students getting a Chromebook laptop computer along with tech upgrades for faculty and staff. The new computers are expected to arrive this week and will be distributed on Monday. Watersmeet students will be on a hybrid learning plan where half are in class while the others are distance learning. Classes start next Tuesday.
