Michels WINS and will run against Evers this November

Written by on August 10, 2022

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Businessman Tim Michels has won Wisconsin’s Republican nomination to take on Democratic Gov. Tony Evers. Tuesday’s primary sets up a high-stakes contest that could reshape how elections are conducted in the marquee battleground. Michels was endorsed by former President Donald Trump. He defeated former Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who had support from former Vice President Mike Pence.  In the Wisconsin US Senate race Ron Johnson appears to be the winner with 84 percent of the vote over challenger David Schroeder and in the district 7 US House race Tom Tiffany of Hazlehurst the clear winner with 87 percent of the vote beating David Kunelius.  Tiffany and Michels both were the top vote getter in Iron, Bayfield, Ashland and Vilas Counties.
