GOGEBIC / IRON COUNTY – The Michigan Department of Health is reporting 176 cases of COVID19 in Gogebic County an increase of 7 since Friday. Ontonagon County with 50 an increase of 3 since Friday. While the Wisconsin Department of Health reports 152 cases in Iron County an increase of 2 since Friday. Upper Michigan added 126 coronavirus cases Saturday. As of Saturday, afternoon, there have been a total of 3,335 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of those, at least 1,360 are considered recovered and 51 have resulted in death. COVID-19 hospitalizations, out of the 10 U.P. hospitals and health systems reporting, show 32 COVID-19 patients in Upper Michigan as of Thursday, Oct. 8. Eight of those patients are in the ICU. Out of the 117,400 diagnostic test results reported to the state from Upper Michigan for the entire coronavirus pandemic, 2.37 percent have come back positive for COVID-19. Wisconsin health officials are confirming 2,676 new positive tests of the coronavirus, lifting the number of cases over the weekend to more than 5,400 and the overall total to more than 150,000. The state reached a new all-time high in its seven-day average of the percent of positive tests at 18.6%.. Hospitalizations rose by 79 in the last day.
