BESSEMER – The Bessemer Area School District has announced that it is “anticipating” a return to in-person learning this fall, but officials are also preparing for an exclusively online method of learning, as well as a method that will combine both. So far all schools in the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District are planning for three different methods of learning this year, including in person, on-line distance learning or a combination of the two, but right now everything is still fluid among all the districts because of the COVID-19 pandemic and raising cases numbers. The superintendents of all the area schools have been meeting to work out a plan for the fall. In Michigan the return to learning plans must be submitted to the state by Aug. 17 creating added pressure to school superintendents.
