Possible preferential treatment for Michigan residents?

Written by on July 17, 2019

UPPER MICHIGAN – Possible preferential treatment for Michigan residents at state park or forest campgrounds. A bill is before a state House committee to give preferential treatment to Michigan residents when making reservations at state park or forest campgrounds. Representative Steve Johnson of Wayland is sponsoring the bill, saying Michigan taxpayers pay for those facilities and should be given a two-week window to reserve spots before they’re available to anyone from out of state. No action is expected on the legislation until after the summer recess.
