Hurley Chamber city council updates on there efforts.

HURLEY – At last night’s Hurley City Council meeting The Hurley Chamber of Commerce presented updates on city events to the Council. Marketing director and events coordinator for the chamber Rita Franzoi, , told the council she would like Hurley residents to help this Monday, during scheduled Hurley clean-up day Beginning at 4 p.m., the event takes place downtown at the motorized trail behind Silver Street. Franzoi said both the Ironwood, Hurley Rotary Club and the chamber will be assisting with the clean-up. She said pasty’s will be provided to volunteers helping with the clean-up. The chamber also submitted a letter to the council of Hurley’s Ordinance number 6-2-1, which states, “No owner of occupant shall allow the sidewalk abutting on his/her property to be littered with rubbish or dirt. If such owner or occupant shall refuse or fail to remove any such rubbish or dirt when notified to do so by the Common Council, or its designee, the city may cause the same to be done and report the cost therefore to the city clerk-treasurer who shall spread the cost on the tax roll as a special tax against the premises, or such cost may be recovered in an action against the owner or occupant.”
