HURLEY – DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY for Iron, Ashland, Bayfield, Price and all of Northwest Wisconsin and much of Minnesota. Visibility is at a quarter mile or less. Also a Flood Watch is in effect for our entire listening area as a large warm and wet system will pass through the region during the day today through Thursday night. This system has brought well above freezing temperatures and will bring rainy conditions which will increase the threat for flooding. The biggest flooding concern will be urban/street flooding, particularly in areas of poor drainage due to snow cover. Another dangerous impact from this storm will be the potential for roof collapses due to rain on top of snow pack on area roofs, which will become very heavy if saturated by rainfall. Basement flooding will also be possible, along with roof leaks due to ice dams. Rainfall totals during the day today through Thursday morning, between 0.5 to 1.5 is possible.
