Watersmeet man will be evaluated to see if he is able to stand trial on his assault charges.

ONTONAGON, Mich.- A Watersmeet man accused of stabbing another man was sent into evaluation to see if he is able to stand trial on his assault charges. 23 year old Marcus Bain, is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon, and police officer-assaulting, resisting, and obstructing. On February 4, Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department were called out to a stabbing at Merritt’s Travel Center in Mass City around 5:47 p.m. There were injuries reported, but no other information was released. No further court date will be set for Bain until results from his competency exam come back.
