Lake effect snow and blowing snow causing sharply reduced visibilities at times. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible over the Porcupine Mountains and near Twin Lakes is possible for the day today. Look for Winds to gust as high as 40 mph, especially near Lake Superior. An arctic air mass with very cold temperatures has settled into the area this morning along with northwest winds has produced dangerously cold wind chills. Looking ahead to Saturday through Thursday another winter storm system moving in from the Plains could bring moderate to possibly heavy snow to Upper Michigan on Tuesday.
