A Watersmeet man is in jail after a possible stabbing

A Watersmeet man is in jail after a possible stabbing was reported in Ontonagon County Monday evening. According to the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a possible stabbing at Merritt’s Travel Center in Mass City at 5:47 p.m. Monday. A 23-year-old man from Watersmeet was arrested for domestic violence, felonious assault with a deadly weapon and resisting and obstructing. Authorities say he is in the Ontonagon County Jail with no bond, awaiting arraignment in Ontonagon County District Court.
Authorities did not release the man’s name or details about any injuries. The U.S. Forest Service and Michigan DNR assisted with the complaint.
