The board decided to push the start day of classes to Tuesday, Aug. 27 siting reasons including a more flexibility in the academic calendar. The flexibility will also give school staff more options as to how to use the professional development time, including summer training or collaborating with other teachers to develop curriculum as possible uses. In other action: -The board approved an agreement with the GOISD continuing the career tech classes the district participates in and The board authorized Superintendent Travis Powell and/or board president Steve Thomas to sign any necessary documents regarding the closing of the sale of Sleight School building.
